Faculty Development Overview

Comprised of faculty representing each college and school of Fairmont State University, Faculty Development Committees oversees the distribution of faculty grants and awards. The committees' charge is to publicize and solicit applications for Faculty Development grants and awards and to select the recipients for final approval by the presidents of the institutions.

Below are the various teaching awards and the eligibility guidelines.

William A. Boram Award

Full-time faculty who have not been recipients of the Boram Award during the previous five years, whose primary duties are instructional, and who have a minimum of five years of service to Fairmont State University are eligible for nomination.

Harold & Roselyn Williamson Straight Award

The award is intended to honor or encourage outstanding, innovative, or otherwise distinctive teaching or scholarship by faculty at Fairmont State University.

Outstanding Adjunct Award

Part-time faculty who have not been recipients of the Outstanding Adjunct Award for Teaching Excellence during the previous five years, whose primary duties are instructional, and who have a minimum of two years of service to Fairmont State University are eligible for nomination.

Faculty Recognition Award

Any full-time faculty member at Fairmont State University.
