When beginning to write, students sometimes struggle with how to properly cite sources.  Citing sources allows the student to give the author of selected articles, books and websites credit for his ideas.  When students fail to cite sources appropriately, they may be guilty of plagiarism.  Plagiarism is considered a form of academic dishonesty or cheating, and may result in punitive measures.  Students should make every attempt to avoid plagiarism.  Review the following tutorial on how to avoid plagiarism.
